How It Works

Radical Boundaries
Require
Radical Support

If you have been struggling with people pleasing, negotiating boundaries with others, and saying no, you’ve likely tried to improve your sense of self worth and your communication skills.

However, when trauma or conditioning teaches you it is safer to concede than to express your needs, your somatic sense of your boundaries are injured or ruptured. People pleasing is not a matter of self worth, it is a matter of self preservation with an injured nervous system.

What might be missing is seeing that your patterns of relating are actually healthy survival responses to stress and trauma in a culture that actively discourages these healing instincts’full expression.

Accessing the power of your no (and your yes) requires honouring the wisdom of your body.

Side portrait of a woman casually dressed in a sweater, dark hair pulled into a loose low bun. Focus is on the back of her neck and near shoulder. Photo is framed so you cannot see her face or her body below her shoulders.

This approach is based on four principles:

01

You are not broken

People pleasing and other ways you might struggle with saying no are protective survival responses which have kept you (and your ancestors) alive in hard times.

You are not broken. You’ve survived, but you’re injured and need the support to heal.

02

Talking isn’t enough

For many, talk therapies are not enough to process the stress and trauma which impact our ability to say no.

My approach supports your body’s nervous system to gently process the past, allowing you to relate with grounded presence.

03

Healing requires connection

We have a physiological need to feel supported by others in order to heal – it is how our brains are wired.

You can’t heal alone. We need one another.

My approach provides that essential witnessing and support in a scientifically validated way.

04

Saying no in this world is hard

Saying no is hard our culture. Systemic oppression, including white supremacy, colonialism, patriarchy, and ableism, is very real and inescapable.

Processing the conditioning and traumas of your past and ancestry will allow you to be better ready for the challenges and injustices of the present moment.
